Sonnenberg Gardens is a non profit organization. As caretakers for property owned by the State of New York, it is up to the non profit to generate the income needed to keep our gates open to the public. Our operating costs are covered solely through seasonal admissions and special events, the retail goods offered at our wine center and gift shop, and the support of our members and donors. Donations: Tax-deductible donations to Sonnenberg are always appreciated. Your monetary donation can be made for specific projects, or it can be given unrestricted, meaning Sonnenberg can use the funds for emergency repairs or ongoing upkeep and garden preservation/improvements.

Memorials and Bequests: Sonnenberg welcomes memorial gifts and bequests in honor of your loved one. From supporting a specific garden or project on the grounds to small memorial services and more, we provide a variety of ways to commemorate your friend or family member. Memberships: Your membership dollars help fund day-to-day operations at the estate. Without the generous support of our personal, business and garden club members, Sonnenberg would not be able to operate successfully as a non-profit organization. As of 2007, membership dollars comprised 53% of the money needed to keep the gates open to the public.
