Private Label Wines

Through the Support of our Partner Wineries, Sonnenberg Proudly Offers Three Private-label Wines:

Abundance – Bottled by Castel Grisch Estate Winery of Watkins Glen, NY, this white wine features the wheat toast aspect of an off-dry Chardonnay paired with the soft apple, pear or melon flavor of a Riesling. With its smooth, light, “no-bite” finish, “Abundance” will compliment, not overpower, most foods. Introduced in 2006, the label bears the image of the 1911 stained glass window of the same name.

Garden Rosé – Bottled by Glenora Wine Cellars in Dundee, NY, a strawberry flavor accompanies the crisp, light body characteristic of the Cayuga grape that predominates in this blush-colored wine. Blended with a Baco Noir to create the color, this wine more closely resembles a semi-sweet White Zinfandel, and pairs well with hors d’oeuvres, ham or pork dishes. Introduced in 2001, the label features our Old-Fashioned Garden as depicted by Canandaigua artist Christopher Wheat.

Mary Red – Bottled by the Goose Watch Winery on Cayuga Lake, this semi-dry to semi-sweet red has a smooth feel and finish, providing a sweeter” taste when chilled, or a more traditional robust, earthy taste at room temperature. This versatility is created by the blending of several grapes, principally Rougeon and Marechal Foch. Introduced in 2003, its label was inspired by a painting of the Sonnenberg Mansion in winter as depicted by volunteer Tracy McIlvene.

On several select Fridays, Finger Lakes wineries (including those not currently represented at our wine center) have the opportunity to present their wines for tasting and sales through exclusive reservation of our Tasting Room during Featured Winery Fridays. This provides broader exposure for the wineries and offers Sonnenberg guests the chance to learn first-hand about the featured winery’s products from a winery representative.
