Third Annual Evening Wine & Dine Gala 
to be held

CANANDAIGUA –  Celebrating the art of wine (inside and outside the bottle), Roses & Rosés Annual Wine & Dine Gala returns Sonnenberg, culminating in an elegant evening of fine wines and foods. Guests will enjoy the splendor of Sonnenberg's Rose Garden and the taste of culinary samples, complimented with wine pairings from area wineries, all on a balmy summer's eve.

 

 
     

 

This special event, held during Sonnenberg’s Rose Week, showcases roses, wines, New York-grown foods, and this year, the 10th anniversary of Sonnenberg's Finger Lakes Wine Center! The 2009 Roses & Rosés Evening Wine & Dine Gala, featured 18 wineries and 8 restaurants tempting the palettes of guests with their best vintages and delicacies. 2009 Participants included:

Doc's Lakeside Seafood Restaurant, Biaggi's Italian Ristorante, Cathy Ziarno High Noon Cafe, Canandaigua Wegmans Catering, Steamboat Landing Restaurant, Sweet Expressions, Muranda Cheese Company, Glenora Wine Cellars, Dr. Konstantin Frank's Vinifera Vineyards, Casa Larga Vineyards, Heron Hill Winery, Hunt Country Vineyards, Lakewood Vineyards, Imagine Moore Winery, Miles Cellars, King's Ferry Winery, Deer Run Winery, White Springs Estate Winery, Anthony Road Vineyards, Chateau Lafayette Reneau, Finger Lakes Wine Center at Sonnenberg.

2010 promises to be even more delicious and delightful with many wineries and restaurants returning again and other newcomers joining for the first time. Area restaurants, wineries, and Executive Chefs and specialty food stores are invited to be in touch now with Event Co-Chairs Betty Rodriguez and Robin Davis to reserve table sampling space at this elegant public event.

Advance reservations for the event will go on sale to the public beginning in May, when the estate opens. Ticketing will be online or by phone reservation at a cost of $30/person or, for Sonnenberg members only, a special rate of 2/$45.



In the first two years of the event, a unique Wine Label competition was held. Shown are Best in Class 2009 winners for, from left: Traditional,Nature/Natural, Art Illustration, Innovative, Contemporary, and Label Series.

 
 Honorable Mention Winners in the 2009 Wine Label Competition. Due to declining participation, the wine label competition will no longer be part of this annual event.

 
 


Guests enjoyed sampling fine wines and foods at the Carriage House and under an outdoor tent.


The Chocolate Fountain from Sweet Expressions was a delectable way to cap off an evening of tasting!
