2008 Dates Still Available
Booking Calendar: Our booking calendar is now available online so you can quickly check your preferred date for availability! Ceremonies typically begin at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m., with some flexibility on times if your ceremony is the first booked that day. Morning and afternoon ceremonies are booked in 3-hour blocks with one hour’s preparation time granted to the wedding party. We reserve the evening time slot for all Garden Season receptions to provide you and your guests six hours from the start of your ceremony to the conclusion of your reception. We accept bookings as early as 18 months in advance.

Garden Ceremonies: We invite you to take your vows together at our traditional ceremony site, located between the Rose and Old- Fashioned Gardens. This picturesque area features manicured lawn, overhanging trees on three sides, and a Pergola -- a structure of six, white columns -- that creates a classical background for your ceremony. Stone and metal urns at the site are filled with white annual flowers by Sonnenberg’s gardeners after the threat of frost has passed and some decoration of the site is permitted. Please click here for more information and pricing on our ceremonies.

Indoor Receptions: Settle in to the reception room in our historic Carriage House, which can accommodate up to 80 people for a sit-down dinner or up to 99 people for an hors d’oeuvres/cocktail party with limited seating. Equipped with restrooms, air-conditioning/fans and heating, the Carriage House underwent interior renovations in winter 2008 and will debut with a beautiful new look for Garden Season! We are also pleased to introduce a new reception-only package at reduced pricing during the off-season (mid-October through early May). Click here for more information and pricing on our Garden Season and Off-Season Carriage House receptions.

Outdoor Receptions: During the summer months, Sonnenberg’s expansive lawn is the ideal site for your tented, outdoor reception, where up to 250 guests can enjoy our natural beauty in a peaceful setting centrally located within the park. Our new tent reception packages, offered in partnership with Tailored Events of Canandaigua, now allows couples to pick the tent seating/layout they prefer and leave the details to Sonnenberg! Click here for more information and pricing on our array of tent reception packages.

Photo Shoots: Reserve a time for your independent wedding or engagement photo shoot and capture the romantic images of your dreams. Choose from among 9 different settings within our gardens for your 1.5-hour photo session. Click here for more information on photo shoot options, a description of our blooming season and pricing.

Scheduling: On any given day, up to 3 weddings and an evening reception, plus one or more photo shoots, or a rehearsal may take place. While we will only book one ceremony on the grounds at a time, and only one reception per day, occasionally, a photo shoot, for example, may take place in one garden while a ceremony is ongoing at our primary wedding site. Rest assured our staff and volunteer escorts will work together to ensure different wedding parties rotate smoothly through our various gardens if booking times occasionally overlap. However, parties utilizing the estate for just a photo shoot should be aware in advance that certain accommodations, such as tram service, are given first to couples whose ceremonies are being held at Sonnenberg.

Vendors: Once you have chosen to celebrate your special day at Sonnenberg, it’s time to put the rest of the details in place! We are pleased to recommend the following partner vendors to help provide your flowers, music, photography, transportation, catering and bakery services. Please note Sonnenberg only requires you choose from among our pre-approved catering partners when holding a reception on site.
