Thanks to generous donations from individuals like you, our treasured Victorian mansion, distinctive historic structures, and beautiful gardens have been steadily restored and enhanced for all to enjoy.
Since 2005 we have made major improvements in many areas of the park including the recent restoration of the greenhouse complex’s 1903 central Conservatory and Dome and the restoration of the Aviary with adjoining outdoor patio and tent pavilion for use with events and celebrations. Donations and support have allowed us in 2018 to restore the Glorietta (the Italian Garden’s marble & iron “garden folly” structure), the Pansy Fountain, and plantings in the Victorian Rock Garden.
Our Current Restoration Projects
Along with our partners at NY State Parks and Parks and Trails NY, we have found a key use of our historic Vinery and East Display green houses in the Native Plant Program which focuses on growing native plants to restore the original habitats of the grasslands and riparian waterways at Ganondagan State Historic Site, Green Lakes State Park and three gorges of Ithaca State Parks. Additional restoration of these greenhouses is required to support this ecologically beneficial program.
It is our immense pleasure to share that the remaining funds are almost secured for our Environmental Protection Fund matching grant that was awarded in 2017 for $900,000 for the 2019 Rock Garden Waterway project. This project will restore function to the waterways of this garden including the waterfalls and pools.
With Immense Gratitude
With immense gratitude for past support, we hope that you will help us continue to prosper. Our dream is to become the gateway to the Canandaigua region, the premier Finger Lakes tourism destination, and one of our nation’s most extensively preserved estates.
