Private Events – Outdoor Tented Event Rentals

Main Reception SiteInvite up to 50 – 275 guests for events such as company picnics, graduation parties, birthday parties, showers, anniversaries, client recognition, etc. under a new curved end white framed tent on the newly installed tent pad at the Northeast end of the estate with the old stone aviary converted into a cocktail bar area.   Nestled inside the park, your outdoor event will offer business associates, family members, and friends a memorable day/night of natural beauty. With Sonnenberg’s inclusive-site service packages, you are free from much of the stress of planning, so you can concentrate on enjoying every minute.

Provisions: Your outdoor event at Sonnenberg includes parking, admission and tram service for all your guests, and Sonnenberg staff to coordinate the details. Through our vendor-partner, Hank Parker’s Party and Tent Rentals, our inclusive-site tent packages include rental, setup and tear down of your tent, tables and chairs, a floor throughout the whole tent, a tent liner, basic/standard “streamer” tent lighting, four antique white chandeliers and a catering tent and service tables. Also included are other tables if needed for bar service, DJ, registration, etc.  Linen, china, glassware and flatware are not included.  You should check with your caterer as to whether they provide these items or not.

Pricing: Our tent package prices range, based on the number of guests your tent must seat (50 – 274).  We will still have availability for tents for over 275 guests. Please contact us for more information.  You are responsible for rental of any additional tables and/or chairs to be used for a cocktail hour if held away from your main tent or the renovated aviary. Optional locations are the Italian Garden patio area or the Mansion Veranda at an additional charge.  A non-refundable deposit, half-down of your contract package price, should be sent with your Tent Contract to formally book your event.

Full payment is due 30 days prior to the event. A la carte fees for specialty lighting, decorations, or live band staging, cooling/heating apparatus or multimedia presentation machines will be passed on at Hank Parker’s cost.  Your typed guest list, alphabetized by last name, should also be emailed to our Private Events Manager prior to your function.

Additional Arrangements: All tented events of over 275 people require a 60’x130′ tent (that is located in an alternate location), your rental of a portable restroom trailer, as the limited evening lighting on the estate means your guests must remain near the tent after dark. (NOTE: These upscale, multi-stall facilities are equipped with electricity, lights, running water and even air-conditioning and are neither blue, nor plastic.) However, tent receptions for 274 guests or fewer, utilizing the main tent site to the north of the Mansion will be able to use the Carriage House restrooms.

Clients must still arrange for food and beverages, dishes and linens, etc. through an approved caterer (see list or contact our Private Events Manager if you are seeking approval for a different caterer). Musicians, DJ, centerpieces and decorations also remain the responsibility of the client.

Scheduling: Check availability of your preferred date in our online booking calendar, then contact our Private Events Manager to tour the estate, or book. Please note bookings can only be held for 5 business days without your signed contract and non-refundable deposit. Should you postpone your event to a different day or year, your deposit will transfer to the new date with payment of a $75 administrative fee for re-booking.  If less than two weeks have passed since your original booking, the re-booking fee will be waived.
